Reflections: A Case Study Presentation Competition

Qatar Care Hosts Case Study Presentation

Committed to its mission to achieve excellence through education, Qatar Care Education and Training Department headed by its Director, Mr. Peach Dale Esloyo, MAN, organized the “Reflections: A Case Study Presentation Competition”.

This competition was intended for all healthcare workers of Qatar Care and its sister company Prime Care, with an aim of having them comprehensively present cases they have handled or currently have been handling.

During the preliminary round, the Education and Training Department received 11 case studies. These case studies were screened based on case uniqueness, originality, and content comprehensiveness which harvested the top five (5) case studies as follows: Qatar Care Villa 1 - Gastric Adenocarcinoma, Qatar Care Villa 2 - Genitourinary Tuberculosis, Qatar Care Villa 3 - Cerebrovascular Accident, Qatar Care Villa 6 - Vocal Cord Paralysis and Prime Care Villa 2 - Wolcott Rallison Syndrome. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Qatar Care Villa 1 and 2 representatives paved the way for Qatar Care Villa 8 with their case study on Asthma.

On April 1, 2021, the Finals for the “Reflections: A Case Study Presentation Competition” were held via Zoom with a live telecast via Qatar Care Facebook Page. Mr. Peach Dale Esloyo, MAN was the activity’s Chief Judge, and he was joined by the Resident Judges, Ms. Normarie Lego, RGN, and Ms. Vesa Lara Malaine Raga, RGN along with the Guest Judge Mr. Geoffrey Leysa, MAN, Nursing Supervisor from Kaiser Baldwin Park Medical Center, Los Angeles California.

The winners were declared after four (4) hours of presentations and discussions. Qatar Care Villa 8 placed third, Qatar Care Villa 3 was second, and Prime Care Villa 2 was hailed as the coverall champion. The “Finals” were judged based on the content submitted and the overall presentation.

Indeed, it was an amazingly fun yet extremely informative activity that enabled the brilliant presenters to showcase what they got.
